Nitzan Herzog, is both a biologist and biomedical engineer. He has built a joint calcium imaging system and MEA recording station for the Hanein Lab in the Nanotechnology center in Tel Aviv. They fabricate calcium nanotube MEAs to study engineered neural networks. Toward that goal, determining specifically which neuron an electrode is recording from is crucial. Nitzan's work used calcium imaging to better characterize the signals we read from the electrodes. We are trying to setup over the next couple weeks a joint Calcium Imaging-MEA recording-Optogenetics system. This Monday, June 13, at 9:00 Nitzan will give a lecture at the MEA Meeting describing his work in Ca imaging and the challenges faced by the technique.

The talk is open to the public. Guests are cordially invited!
