Molecular dynamic simulations of Argonaute protein with modified nucleic acids

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Hansastr. 9a
Argonaute proteins are cleavage components of RNA interference machinery, post-transcriptionally regulating gene expressions. Based on the known X-ray structure of Argonaute proteins from bacteria, homological models of human Argonautes were created and studied in complexes with nucleic acids (NAs) by means of molecular dynamic simulations. Interactions of NAs and Argonaute are then compared with experimental evidence and used for effective design of modified NAs, as new potential therapeutics.
The talk is open to the public. Guests are cordially invited!
