Detection of sources of simultaneous firing in spiking neuronal network

Abstract:
Recent experimental studies revealed that neural networks can generate spiking patterns with high degree of temporal coherence between firing events of different cells (pairwise synchronization, clustering, synfire patterns, cortical songs etc.) We analyze experimental fMCI recordings and numerical simulation data to detect synchronization sources and to obtain information about topological characteristics of the synaptic connections activated to generate the observed patterns.
