Modulation of motor skill learning by transcranial direct current stimulation

Tuesday, April 1, 2014

Lecture Hall (ground floor)
Bernstein Center Freiburg
Hansastraße 9A

Abstract:
I will talk about the effects of tDCS applied to the motor cortex on visuomotor skill learning in healthy individuals and stroke patients. I will show how tDCS combined with prolonged motor training can affect different temporal components of the learning process. Since tDCS has tremendous potential to improve motor function after brain injury, I will also contrast the effects of tDCS on motor skill learning in healthy individuals and stroke patients and highlight possible implications for the design of treatment strategies.

The talk is open to the public. Guests are cordially invited!
